What is Heard?
Heard is the only financial management software built for therapists. We empower therapists like you as business owners with easy-to-use financial software and access to bookkeeping and tax professionals—so you can focus on helping your clients.
How does Heard pricing work?
We offer subscription-based pricing with both monthly and annual billing options. Annual subscribers save 15% compared to monthly billing. We also offer an annual plan with monthly payments, which requires a one-year commitment.
We have three plans to choose from: our Starter Plan is perfect for new therapists just getting started and includes done-for-you bookkeeping services, available only to practice owners expecting less than $50,000 in annual revenue. Our Essential Plan is designed for solo practice owners who are LLCs or Sole Proprietors. Our Premium Plan is built for S Corporations and/or group practices, includes payroll for up to one user, with additional employees costing $6 per month each.
There's a one-time setup fee of $99 per month of catch-up bookkeeping required. Our pricing plans don't include third-party government fees and taxes, our Financial Advisory add-on services, or business license filing fees which vary by location, though these additional fees are typically tax-deductible.
Can I cancel any time?
Monthly plan subscribers can cancel at any time, while annual plan subscribers commit to the full year upfront with all subscription and one-time fees being non-refundable.

What's the difference between Heard and QuickBooks?
QuickBooks is a good DIY software choice for therapists who are looking to do their own bookkeeping. To upgrade to their full-service bookkeeping option, however, you can expect to pay $300/mo or more.
In addition to cost, the other difference is that Heard is built specifically for therapists, whereas Quickbooks is industry-agnostic. Specializing in therapy practices means we understand your business.
What's the difference between Heard and a local CPA?
A local CPA is a good option for therapists who are looking for a more personalized experience with regular meetings to review their financials.
With that said, you can expect to pay $500/mo or more working with a local CPA.
What does my bookkeeping team do?
When you first join Heard, your bookkeeping team will complete your catch up bookkeeping for the current tax year. Then moving forward, they will categorize your transactions and reconcile your accounts every month.
They also make any necessary adjustments to your books to ensure they are tax-compliant and account for any outside expenditures, not being run through your business bank accounts.
Your bookkeeping team may need your input on reviewing transactions to ensure proper categorizations. We also may need you to upload your monthly statements so we can reconcile your accounts.
You will be able to message your bookkeeping team to get any questions answered within 1-2 business days. Every question will be answered by a real person. Our aim is to support and educate you throughout the bookkeeping and accounting process.
Who does Heard work and not work with?
We work exclusively with mental health therapy practices, including: psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, mental health counselors, professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners.
We are able to support therapists who have other streams of income (e.g. coaching, consulting).
We do not work with non-mental health practices, practices based outside the United States, practices with multiple owners, and practices taxed as C corporations.
