At Heard (Heard Technologies, Inc., and our affiliates, collectively “Heard”), our mission is to empower mental health practitioners to focus on their clients by using our combination of smart software and real humans to master their financial lives with modern bookkeeping solutions and through our websites and software applications (collectively, the “Service”). To fulfill this mission, we collect information about (1) our Therapists, using Heard to power your business and their personnel, (2) our visitors to Heard websites, or anyone contacting Heard support, and (3) anyone else who provides personal information to Heard. Collectively, we refer to these individuals in this Privacy Policy as User, Users, or you. The websites and software applications governed by this Privacy Policy include without limitation joinheard.com and dashboard.joinheard.com.
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy outlines:

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We receive information about you in a range of ways.
Personal Information You Provide Us. We collect the following categories of personal information directly from you when you sign up for Heard, when you use our Service, or when you otherwise provide us information:
- Personal identifiers such as your and your employees or contractors’ names, email addresses, postal addresses, job titles, and telephone numbers;
- Financial information, such as your bank account information and the last four digits of your credit card;
- Commercial information about the Service you purchased, obtained, or considered or other purchasing or consuming histories or tendencies;
- Sensitive information needed for processing of taxes, such as your social security number, driver’s license or state identification number, citizenship status, and personal property records;
- Feedback and correspondence, such as personal information you provide when you report a problem with the Service, receive support or otherwise correspond with us, including information you provide to our AI-powered virtual assistant Haven;
- Information derived from interactions with our advertising or marketing campaigns, including via third-party platforms such as social media platforms;
- Information about your geolocation, such as physical location based on IP address, device data, or region; and
- Photos, video, and audio of you.
Personal Information We Receive From Others. We may receive personal information about you from other third-party sources and we may add this to personal information we get directly from you. Such personal information may include:
- Personal Information from a Third Party Payment Platform: To pay the fees associated with the Service, payment is processed using a Third-Party Payment Platform. By using a Third-Party Payment Platform, we never receive your complete financial information, such as your complete credit card number. Your personal information may also be processed in accordance with the privacy policy of the Third-Party Payment Platform.
- User Information: The Service includes integrations with third party partners. These integrations may include the sharing of personal information with us. For instance, we may receive your name from our third-party partner, Gusto. We recommend reviewing Gusto’s privacy policy for more information.
- Information Automatically Collected. We and our partners may automatically record certain information about how you use our Service. This may include information such as a User’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, device and browser type, operating system, the pages or features of our websites to which a User browsed and the time spent on those pages or features, the frequency with which the websites are used by a User, search terms, the links on our websites that a User clicked on or used, and other statistics. We use this information to administer the Service and we analyze (and may engage third parties to analyze) this information to improve and enhance the Service by expanding its features and functionality and tailoring it to our Users’ needs and preferences. We also use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies to analyze trends, administer the websites, track Users’ movements around the websites, and to gather demographic information about our User base as a whole. Others’ Personal Information. In using our Service, you may provide us with the personal information of others (for example, the names and addresses of your employees). You are responsible for the personal information of others that you disclose to us and for ensuring that your instructions regarding the processing of such information complies with applicable data protection laws. If you are sharing someone else’s personal information with us, you must be legally authorized to share such information on their behalf.
HOW WE USE THE PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We use the personal information we collect or receive for the following purposes:
- to provide you with our Services. Some features in our Service use artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies. For example, Haven is an AI assistant that, when you engage with the feature, provides financial information based on information you submit to Heard or direct our Service to collect
- to fulfill a contractual obligation
- to improve and develop our Service
- verifying your or your business’ identity
- contacting you as needed to provide the Service (including by sending you text or SMS messages, if you have opted in to receiving them)
- preventing risk and fraud (for example, to detect and protect Heard and other third parties against error, negligence, breach of contract, fraud, theft and other illegal activity, and to audit compliance with Heard’s policies and contractual obligations)
- answering questions or providing other types of support
- providing, securing, debugging and improving our Service
- conducting and providing reporting and analytics
- developing, improving, and testing out features or additional services
- to provide, improve, personalize, support, secure, analyze, and develop our Service and features, including Heard’s own artificial intelligence, machine learning, and large language model-powered features. Please note that the features of the Service that incorporate or use these technologies may require human review and may not always be accurate.
- assisting with and providing updates, promotions, marketing, advertising, or other communications from us or our partners
- personalizing your experience and delivering content, solutions, and offerings relevant to your interests
- understanding your needs and eligibility for products and services
- complying with legal and regulatory requirements
- enforcing our Terms of Use and / or compliance with this Privacy Policy
- to enforce and protect our rights and defend and protect our business interest and the interests and rights of third parties
- to respond to legal, government, and law enforcement requests and to comply with our legal obligations

- At your direction, request or consent: We may disclose or allow access to your personal information if you otherwise consent, request, or direct us to do so.
Text Messaging Disclosure: All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.
HOW WE STORE AND PROTECT THE PERSONAL INFORMATION WE RECEIVE
Heard uses reasonable security measures to store and protect the personal information under our control and appropriately limit access to it. However, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information, and you transmit information to us at your own risk.
We use a variety of information security measures to protect your online transactions with us. The Service uses encryption technology, such as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), to protect your personal information during data transport. Please remember also that the safety and security of your personal information also depend on you. Where you have chosen, or where we have given you, a user name and password for access to the Services, you are responsible for keeping the user name and password confidential.
We want you to feel confident using the Services. However, no system, device, or transmission can be completely secure. Therefore, although we take steps to secure your information, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your personal information, usage data or other communications will always remain secure. By using this Service, in accordance with the Terms of Use you agree to release us from any and all claims arising out of unauthorized access, use, and disclosure of your information.
YOUR CHOICES REGARDING THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT
You may request to opt out of our marketing communications.
- We may send you marketing email relating to the Services we offer. To unsubscribe, follow the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or follow the directions included in any other promotional material received from Heard.
- To stop receiving text or SMS messages, follow the instructions in the text or SMS message (i.e., reply “STOP” to the text message).
DATA RETENTION
We will retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, provide you services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you close your account, we may still retain certain information associated with your account for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
THIRD PARTY SERVICES AND LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES
Our website may contain links to other websites including those of our partners and other third parties, many of which have their own privacy policies. Be sure to review the privacy policy on any site you are visiting, whether directly or through the Service.
Additionally, we integrate third party services into our Service. This Privacy Policy only covers the collection and use of personal information by Heard.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Children's Privacy
We restrict use of the Service to individuals age 18 and above, and do not knowingly seek or collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18.
Using the Services from Outside the United States
Our Service is directed to residents of the United States and is not intended for Users located outside the United States. If you are accessing the Service from outside the United States, please be aware that your personal information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located, and our central database is operated. The data protection and other laws of the United States and other countries might not be as comprehensive as those in your country. By using the Service, you understand that your personal information may be transferred to our facilities and those third parties to whom we disclose it as described in this Privacy Policy.
